Honest people

Different people have asked us about how safe it is to travel in these parts.

I just want to share this story with you.
When we went for a walk yesterday in Bodrum Geert, our guest, noticed  that he did not have his wallet with him. Oh well I must have left it on the boat he thought. However when we got back to the boat the wallet was no where to be found. Thinking back he remembered the last time he used it was when he payed for the gas when we filled up our rental car after picking him up from the airport at 2.30 in the morning.  This was just before we wanted to leave the marina the next day about 2.30 in the afternoon. We went to the marine office who called the gas station and sure enough it was there with the receipt tied to it with an elastic.  Everything was there credit cards, drivers license, travel insurance and cash. Nothing was missing as a matter of fact when the marina called the gas bar attendant asked for permission to look in the wallet to identify the owner.

How is that for a story of honesty and trustworthiness ??

Great example and exactly the type of experiences we've had throughout our travels as well. You folks are great ambassadors and you show us all how fun the world can be if we only embrace it and look for the positives in one another.
