Anchorage at Antiparos

Anchored just off the Island of Antiparos.
Antiparos is a small Island to the west of Paros.
We took the dingy to Paros and explored the port town of Parikia.

The narrow streets of Parikia.
The old church (build in the 6th century) is an impressive building.
It was the dream of Helen, the mother of Constantine, who was the first Christian Byzantine emperor.
The Church is supposed to have 100 doors but only 99 were ever found. According to legend when the 100st door is found Constantinople (Istanbul) will be returned to the Greeks.

A very impressive domed ceiling.
