We were told that there are lots of rats on the island of Meganisi. Apparently they walk right up the docking lines and get on board looking for food. I have heard horror stories about what a rat can do on board if they can get inside, so one way to discourage them is putting a disk on the docking lines. The lid and side of a plastic pail was used for this purpose.
