Strong current
I mentioned in my previous blog "glide past Koblenz" However we are "gliding" quite slow at this time going up stream. The high water caused by the heavy rain fall from the last few weeks is causing a strong current, as is evidence by these two photos.
You can see the power it takes by for this commercial boat to get up stream by the "prop wash" it leaves behind.
The top photograph shows a boat going down stream at break neck speed (mariner break neck speed) without this "prop wash"
Le rêve is advancing at approx. 2 kn (3.5 km/hr)and at the RPM we are running should do 7,5 kn (13.5 km/hr) if there was no current.

We are enjoying your blog again. How dangerous are the high water levels?
