In Alken we spotted this cute little back yard. Upon further inspection it appeared to be the sales outlet from a winery. So we parked the bikes and investigated.

No one around, however the sign read "Klingel für verkauf" ( ring for sales) So we klingeled!!!
And after some time the lady of the winery showed up and gave us a tour of their cellar. it was an amazing place and must have been as old as Methuselah.

After the "taste test" we could not leave without buying some of their excellent Riesling.
by the way "Riesling" is the Mosel's specialty.

Moselle, Moesel, Mosel !?!?!? How to spell it. As we are in Germany we better spell it in German. MOSEL!!!!
