We left Volendam (right pic.) under sunny skies, with hardly any wind. A gorgeous day!!
We leave "Marken" (left pict.) on our starboard side. Prior to the "marker meer" Marken was an island, but when the dike was built to create yet an other polder, there was so much public opposition, and the polder never materialized. However a dike and road was built to Marken, so it is now accessible by car.
